The best moments in life happen with other people. Life is rich because of relationships. In fact, all our growth and development rely on relationships – with parents, siblings, friends, and spouses.
Scripture states that we are created in God’s image (Genesis 1:27) – that which makes us human is a reflection of God’s own self, God’s personality. He also created relationships. The best of your relationships on Earth can reflect what is possible between you and God.
Think back on great moments of fun and triumph you shared with someone as a child and now – great adventure, successes, shared excitement, accomplishing something you thought you’d never be able to, with that person right alongside you, thrilled with you!
Recall moments of quiet connectedness – late night talks, sharing openly and feeling understood, caring eyes meeting your own, the comforting touch that led to calm.
We are all grateful for the relationships which made those moments meaningful. Just as we are invigorated and refreshed spending time with those who are close to us, God appeals to us to join Him in a deep relationship of connectedness. He will share with you, accompany you, be thrilled with you. God will listen, understand, and touch you.
He delights in you (Zephaniah 3:17)!
